WHO WE ARE
We are a growing community with a clear purpose
Niner Christian Life -- known around campus as NCL -- began at UNC Charlotte in the summer of 2013 with a small team from our parent church in Raleigh. We were inspired by Jesus' words in Acts 1:8, where He said his followers should pursue people locally, regionally and globally with the intent of helping others discover Him.
We are not the biggest or the flashiest, but we do have a very clear aim -- to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ who help others be devoted to Him as well. With His help, we are developing a network of Bible-based learning communities that empower people to be spiritually, emotionally and relationally healthy, ready to serve others.
Keep track of all the latest events happening at NCL here. New events and updates posted each Monday.

Wherever you are at in your relationship with God, we have a place for you to connect and grow in community.
If you're not quite sure what to make of God and the Bible but are interested in learning more, we'd love to talk with you! Drop us a line (bottom of page) or talk with someone you've met at NCL about learning more about Jesus -- who He is and what He taught.
What exactly is church, anyway, and how should we be involved in it? These groups are for Christians who want to learn how to seek after God, in community. We'll grow in our biblical understanding and in our practice of what God says we're to do.
Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 7:30 p.m. at SoVi Commons lounge
Note: Our groups will kick off the week of Aug. 20-27 with dinner at the SoVi dining hall, then move to their regular locations the following week.
Our area churches meet throughout the week, both on-campus and in the surrounding community. These groups are for Christians who desire to be devoted to helping each other live out all aspects of their relationship with God, in community, on an ongoing basis.
Tuesdays: 6:30 p.m. at Erik & Jennifer Murphy's
Wednesdays: 7:30 p.m. at Daryn & Lauren Williams'
OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Daryn's heart was drastically changed by Christ while attending NC State University. He enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, running, and making new friends based around the gospel of Jesus. He and his wife, Lauren, have two girls and a boy, all under age 3.
God used some bold and caring friends in college to help grab Jordan's attention and his heart during his freshman year at N.C. State. Hearing the gospel changed his life! Jordan has been in full-time vocational ministry since 2009 and has been NCL's only full-time staff member since 2018.
God grabbed hold of Keegan in high school, but it wasn't until college that he started being obedient to God's commands. He is a nerd who loves reading, ultimate frisbee and video games. Keegan is married to Amy and has three beautiful girls: Aria, Riley and Joy!
STAFF & KEY LEADERS
Shannon doubted God's love and her own salvation until encountering him afresh in college. God has since led her to NCL, where she serves as a bi-vocational ministry associate. Shannon also writes her own stories, kayaks any body of water large enough to hold a boat, and (somewhat intentionally) loses things at friends' houses. She is marrying her partner-in-crime, Joe, on Labor Day weekend!
PASTOR @ GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH (RALEIGH, NC)
While in school at Clemson University, Berk's heart was gripped by a passionate love for Jesus and a desire to see the nations reached for the gospel. Berk has been instrumental in discipling all three of NCL's pastors. He and his wife, Barbara, have raised six boys and currently live in Cary, NC.
NCL STUDENT PRESIDENT
When he's not buried in mounds of engineering homework, Chris enjoys anime, learning about Japanese culture and playing video games. He's also highly inquisitive, known to ask a lot of excellent questions! Chris hails from Holly Springs, NC.
NCL STUDENT VICE PRESIDENT
Fun fact about Silas: he is in the Top 100 in the world at solving Rubik's cubes and holds several standing records. He's unmistakably a country boy and also an avid NASCAR fan. Silas is also studying engineering at UNCC. He comes from Salisbury, NC.
