WHO WE ARE
We are a growing community with a clear purpose
Niner Christian Life -- known around campus as NCL -- began at UNC Charlotte in the summer of 2013 with a small team from our parent church in Raleigh. We were inspired by Jesus' words in Acts 1:8, where He said his followers should pursue people locally, regionally and globally with the intent of helping others discover Him.
We are not the biggest or the flashiest, but we do have a very clear aim -- to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ who help others be devoted to Him as well. With His help, we are developing a network of Bible-based learning communities that empower people to be spiritually, emotionally and relationally healthy, ready to serve others.
Keep track of all the latest events happening at NCL here. New events and updates posted each week.
Sunday Gatherings on Hiatus

Due to holiday schedules, we will not be having our Sunday morning gatherings over the next few weeks. But we will resume on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, in College of Education (COED) Room 065 at 10:00 a.m.!
Discovery Groups return in January
DEC 13 - JAN 10
Our weekly Discovery Groups are taking a break during the winter break but will return the week of January 9! Check back for an updated list of days and times in the new year.
Stay tuned for more in 2022...
That's all for 2021! We look forward to spending the new year with you, worshipping the Lord together and proclaiming His name. Look for more announcements after the first of the year.
Wherever you are at in your relationship with God, we have a place for you to connect and grow in community.
If you're not quite sure what to make of God and the Bible but are interested in learning more, we'd love to talk with you. These groups are informal gatherings focused on learning more about Jesus -- who He is and what He taught.
What exactly is church, anyway, and how should we be involved in it? These groups are for Christians who want to learn how to seek after God, in community. We'll grow in our biblical understanding and in our practice of what God says we're to do.
Our groups are currently taking a break but will return
Our area churches meet throughout the week, both on-campus and in the surrounding community. These groups are for Christians who desire to be devoted to helping each other live out all aspects of their relationship with God, in community, on an ongoing basis.
Days and times coming soon
OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
We also have two staff members here in Charlotte.
We have three local pastors and two at-large pastors from our parent church in Raleigh, NC.
Daryn's heart was drastically changed by Christ while attending NC State University. He enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, running, and making new friends based around the gospel of Jesus. He and his wife, Lauren have two precious little girls.
PASTOR / STAFF
God used some bold and caring friends to help grab Jordan’s attention and his heart during his freshman year at N.C. State. Hearing the gospel changed his life! Jordan has been in full-time vocational ministry since 2009 and has been NCL's only full-time staff since 2018.
God grabbed hold of Keegan in high school, but it wasn't until college that he started being obedient to God's commands. He is a nerd who loves reading, ultimate frisbee and video games. He is married to Amy and has three beautiful girls, Aria, Riley and Joy!
While in school at Clemson, Berk's heart was gripped by a passionate love for Jesus and a desire to see the nations reached with the gospel! Berk and his wife, Barbara, have raised six boys and currently live in Cary, NC.
Ed graduated from that light blue school down the road, and we forgive him for that. He loves teaching the Word of God, holding babies, eating caramel popcorn and talking with anyone who will listen about how Jesus can change their life. Ed and his wife, Mary, live in Raleigh, NC and have two daughters.
Shannon doubted God's love and her own salvation until encountering him afresh in college. God has since led her to NCL, where she serves as a bi-vocational ministry associate. (She also happily pads through books in her second job as a librarian.) Shannon also writes her own stories, kayaks any body of water large enough to hold a boat, and (somewhat intentionally) loses things at friends' houses.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. It was uniquely, verbally, and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and was written without error in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in faith and life in every age.
